Our school was established in 1924 by Franciscan sisters in order to provide education to all in the Batticaloa region. Because of their sacrificial manner many orphan children gained good education at this school and became good citizens of this country. The salient feature is that not only Batticaloa students but also student of country’s other regions’ student made use this abundantly for their bright future. On the other hand this school is maintaining the policy of providing education to all without considering race, religion and language. Those who studied in this school gained good position in our society. They are still doing well in both government and private sectors. I wish with the god’s blessing to the students who are studying now at our school to become good citizens and personality of facing challenges successfully in the life.

Meanwhile, I thankfully remember Rev.Sr.Beronic Julianee F.M.M, past principal, past teachers, present principal and present teachers may St. Theresaa intercede for us.
